Ten years ago, I visited Broadway’s Historic Theater District for the first time.  I had never been to Los Angeles, so I was being shown around the city.  When my host brought me through Downtown, I was so in awe of the majestic buildings around me that I must have stuck my head out of the window of the car several times just to take it all in.  This was the first day that I fell in love with architecture and historic preservation.  More importantly, however, that was the day that I fell in love with Los Angeles, which has since developed into a career with the City and outside pursuits with the Los Angeles Conservancy.
